Pro-Choice and Pro-Life: Finding Common Ground

Pro-Choice and Pro-Life: Finding Common Ground

One must attempt to understand the abortion issue from both sides. Moreover, we should not consider the 'other' side as horrible and hateful people. Most of us simply do not agree on the basic question, when does life begin. The Pro-Choice position advocates for individual rights, the rights of women, the right to control your own future without governmental interference. Most Pro-Choice advocates do not believe there is a life at stake and simply foresee the negative impact of a forced pregnancy. The Pro-Life position advocates for an unborn individual, a life that exists and must be protected. Many Pro-Life advocates see abortion as murder. A very serious act with inflammatory overtone.
Both positions are valid and support the key American value of individual rights and freedom.
The issue is two-fold, who and when.
Abortion is an action addressing an unwanted pregnancy. If there is no pregnancy, there is no abortion.
